In the Q-Box: Ed Wierzbicki

A versatile ensemble takes the music of life and turns it inside out! From quick-change comic souffle set in a museum to the rhythms of a man's life performed to a conductor's baton. An original and imaginative theatrical experience.

Ed Wierzbicki, Artistic Director of the New Zenith Theatre, steps into this special Fringe-centric Q-Box to answer our always informative, albeit mostly ridiculous, questions.
What's the best thing about Fringe?
The Fringe offers us a chance to take new risks and explore material, styles, and themes that aren't in your usual comfort zone. This venture stretches us all as artists; and will hopefully challenge the audience to listen and watch theatre in new ways.

What's the #1 reason people should come see your show?
Bob Barnett (playwright) has a brilliant mind and an endless reservoir of creative ideas! He creates theatrical fun; delightful stories we can identify with; and he always makes you think and react emotionally even while you giggle or smirk. You will see his music both physically and verbally!

Do you have any opening-night rituals?
A good all-company warm-up; an intimate talk with the cast; and a good, strong cigar!

What are the craziest performance conditions you've had to work under?
Packing a road case and suitcase; traveling to Sweden; loading in and setting up late into the night in a school theatre; and wowing a young audience in Stockholm the next day!

How did you get involved with the arts?
My parents were working class, so I didn't grow up with the arts like some other kids. But I studied music and played in a band, finally re-routing that passion by training as an actor at Boston University. I owe that place for inciting my passion for theatre, and giving me a craft.
