High 5

This month, High 5's got a little taste (musically, that is) of everything for everyone. If you're a serious audiophile or just looking to experience a new sound, High 5's got you covered this November, with concerts that "scale the scales" from epic performances of Stravinsky's famed Firebird to the primal rhythms of Japanese taiko drumming. We've got gospel, we've got jazz, we've got hip-hop. But there's more to explore, like medieval classics re-imagined for the 21st Century, film scores performed by one of the country's best orchestra, blues chords by the best and a whole lot of strings.

Spotlight On Music kicks off with on Saturday, November 1st with a FUZE workshop, led by the incomparable Arturo O'Farrell and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra at Symphony Space! Following the FUZE event, this Grammy-nominated ensemble, renowned for melding African and Latin rhythms with American jazz harmonies, are holding a special Dia de los Muertos concert, featuring the world premiere of the Day of the Dead Suite, the extraordinary Aztec Suite and special guest performers including Folkloric Dancers!
